How My Little Pony Test handles quiz progress, analytics choices, email, and technical data

2026/09/03

Scope and contact

This policy applies to My Little Pony Test at mylittleponytest.org. The site is operated by the My Little Pony Test editorial team. You can contact us at [email protected] or through the contact page.

The site provides free, fan-made personality quizzes and editorial articles. It does not currently offer user accounts, payments, or advertising.

Information handled when you use the site

Quiz answers and progress

Quiz answers and unfinished progress are processed in your browser. They are not submitted to our server. Browser local storage keeps the quiz version, current question, and answers so you can resume an unfinished quiz:

  • mlp-quiz-progress stores versioned answers and progress for the main quiz. It expires automatically after 24 hours.
  • hk-quiz-progress, gg-quiz-progress, bj-quiz-progress, and ma-quiz-progress store versioned answers and progress. They are removed when you complete the quiz, start again, or clear your browser data.

Analytics choice and optional analytics

The key mlpt-analytics-consent-v1 records whether you accepted or declined optional analytics. A saved choice always takes priority and remains on your device until you change it through Privacy choices in the footer or clear your browser data.

On the production site, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load with advertising storage denied. If you have not saved a choice, visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and visitors whose region cannot be determined, keep analytics storage denied and see a choice panel. In other regions, fuller analytics can run without saving an implicit grant. When analytics storage is denied, those services may still send limited cookieless measurements such as page visits, basic interactions, device and browser information, and IP-derived information. When analytics storage is allowed, they may use analytics cookies or similar identifiers for more complete analytics. We do not send your quiz answers to these services.

The production site also loads Plausible, a cookieless audience-measurement service hosted at plausible.clapoint.com. Plausible is used to count page views. It does not use the analytics-cookie choice that controls Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Plausible may receive the requested page URL after this site removes the URL hash and query parameters other than UTM campaign fields, along with ordinary technical request data such as browser or device information and IP-derived information used by the provider for aggregate statistics. Quiz answers are not sent to Plausible.

We use this aggregated audience information to understand whether pages work as expected and where the site can be improved. Advertising storage stays denied.

Hosting and security data

Cloudflare serves the site. Its infrastructure may process technical request information, including IP address, browser or user-agent details, requested URL, timestamps, and security signals, to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability. This processing is necessary to operate and secure the service.

Email contact

The contact form creates a draft in your own email application. It does not submit the fields to this website. If you send the draft, we receive the name, email address, message, and any other information you include through our email provider. We use it only to respond, manage the issue, and keep records when reasonably necessary.

Site feedback

The on-site feedback form lets you send general feedback, a bug report, or a feature idea without creating an account. Cloudflare Pages Functions validate the request. Accepted submissions are stored in Cloudflare D1 so we can review them and, if you leave a reply email, follow up.

We store the feedback type, message, the page URL you sent it from after removing the URL hash, the site language in use, a short browser or device string truncated to 120 characters, the time of submission, and an optional reply email if you provide one. We use a hidden honeypot field and short-lived D1 rate limiting to reduce automated abuse. For rate limiting, the Function combines the request network address with the current one-minute window and converts it to a rotating SHA-256 key. D1 stores only that key and its request count. The key expires after about two minutes, and later rate-limit writes prune expired rows. We do not store the raw network address in D1.

The feedback form does not upload quiz answers or in-browser quiz progress. If you include a reply email, we use it only to respond to that submission.

Service providers and international processing

The site may rely on:

  • Cloudflare for hosting, delivery, security, rate limiting, and storing site feedback in D1;
  • Google Analytics for limited cookieless measurement and, when analytics storage is allowed, fuller audience analytics;
  • Microsoft Clarity for limited cookieless measurement and, when analytics storage is allowed, fuller interaction analytics;
  • Plausible for cookieless page-view counts that do not wait for the analytics-cookie choice; and
  • our email provider when you send us a message.

These providers may process data in countries outside your own and apply their own privacy and security terms. The analytics control limits analytics cookies and identifiers; advertising storage stays disabled.

Advertising

The site does not currently load advertising cookies or serve personalized ads. We may apply to use Google AdSense. Before advertising is enabled, this policy and the consent controls will cover the active advertising configuration.

When Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process IP addresses or other device identifiers to serve and measure ads, limit repetition, prevent fraud, and—only where the required consent exists—personalize advertising based on prior visits to this or other sites. Google and other third-party vendors control their own advertising technologies and retention periods.

Where required, advertising consent will use a Google-certified consent management platform. The platform will present the applicable vendors and purposes and pass the visitor's choice before advertising storage or personalized advertising is used. Visitors can also manage Google ad personalization through Google's ad settings. We will not send quiz answers or contact-form fields to AdSense in ad requests.

Retention

Quiz progress follows the browser-storage periods listed above. The analytics preference stays on your device until changed or cleared. Analytics providers retain data under the settings and periods configured for their services. Email and site feedback are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, review the feedback, document a rights issue, meet legal obligations, or protect the site.

Children

The quizzes do not require an account, date of birth, or real name, and quiz answers stay in the browser. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the quizzes. A child should ask a parent or guardian before sending email, submitting site feedback, or enabling optional analytics. If you believe a child sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • save or change an analytics choice from Privacy choices in the footer;
  • delete quiz progress and preferences through your browser's site-data controls;
  • ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection where applicable to information we hold through email; and
  • withdraw consent without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Privacy rights vary by location. We may need enough information to verify and complete a request. Contact [email protected].

Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for the limited information handled by the site, though no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
